KITE in dialogue with a delegation from the Israeli Teaching and Learning Centre Forum

At the invitation of the Service Center for Teaching Excellence, we at KITE had the pleasure of welcoming a delegation from the Israeli Teaching and Learning Centres Forum to the Linden campus of Hochschule Hannover - University of Applied Sciences and Arts, where we held an in-depth discussion on AI in higher education.

It’s already been a week since 5 May – but the memories are still very much alive.

At the invitation of the Service Center for Teaching Excellence, we at KITE (Competence Centre for AI Transformation and Empowerment) welcomed a delegation from the Israeli Teaching and Learning Centres Forum to the Linden campus of Hochschule Hannover - University of Applied Sciences and Arts, where we held an in-depth discussion on AI in higher education.

During our workshop sessions, we engaged in open and lively discussions: Which teaching methods, learning tasks and assessment formats best foster AI skills? How can students and lecturers be prepared for an increasingly complex future? And what do we actually mean when we talk about AI empowerment?

In addition to the exchange of ideas, the meetings offered valuable insights into different higher education systems and academic cultures.

What really impressed us: our colleagues from Israel joined forces years ago to tackle the big questions of higher education teaching together. One of their ideas: a travelling conference that identifies new ideas, approaches and successful models from other universities worldwide and brings them home – sometimes you simply need an outside perspective to see your own context in a new light.

A heartfelt thank you to the Service Center for Teaching Excellence for the invitation – and to everyone involved for their openness, curiosity and willingness to share experiences and question perspectives.
